Update! Getting lots of credible reports that this was fixed and fast. Might actually have been from other people's reports at about the time I was posting this (I recorded it a few hours earlier).
If two donor items are too similar to the each other, the Hinelocked recipient item will now show the same item for each.

I had my first SSF t17 drop about 24 hours after they patched the Einhar/Huck interaction. Thanks Snitchgog, now I have to actually play the game.

Strange thing here is that the craft is 100% sensible. If this is an oversight, some fundamental changes need to be made in order to "fix" this.

just out of curiosity, if you use a chrome on the shield without the lock, does it count as a "new" shield and if that doesnt work, does an orb of alteration work?

Belton made a video about a similar interaction last league using hinekoras lock and glimpse of chaos. Does this behave the same way if you use an actual lock on the item?

That's kinda the point of the lock preserving resources and that you can see the outcome of several different "inputs". Sure the thousands of different inputs for a typical item is quite a low number compared to the infinite you can do with this strat but still. Also that makes me wonder... Delve resonators are unstackable. Can you achieve the same effect with lock and resonator or despite being unstackable the same fossils resonator has the same effect?

Do you have to get a brand new shield, or can you reroll the shield and use it again to see new results?

Can you check if modifying the sacrificed shield changes the outcome? Like blessed orb?

This doesn't work as outlined in the video. The OP seems to have misunderstood the source material from the @TenFrenzyFlicker video he linked in the info.

I attempted this crafting method ~1hr ago. Unfortunately, changing smoosh material did not change the awakener orb outcome. That being said, you can reapply a new hinekora to see a new outcome, still cheaper than spamming hinekora's normally

It doesn't seem to work. The Awakeners Orb has the same outcome when I switch to another item with the same desired modifier

this sounds op, like does it give different outcomes if you bless the first item? could be exploitable like crazy. You can basically fish for tripple influenced mod until you get what your looking for

I think it is working as intended. Because if you do have to reroll the sacrifice base every time you want to check. Then there is a cost.
If you do NOT have to reroll the base, just hover the Awaken Orb and the sacrifice base over the actual base indefinitely, then that NEED to be fixed. Because that has no cost.

i got a bug where i cannot unlock the lock craft sadly. i used the right beast x2 as well at lv83 and yellow beast lv83 still wont unlock

if you slap a chromatic on the shield that doesn't have the "Hinekora's Lock" on it, does the result of that shield with the "Foresee" shield, change? might not need to fish between shields at all.

pretty sure this works as intended, its definitely what i expected when they announced the new beast craft. Pretty obvious that its mostly gonna be used with awa orbs, maven orbs and corrupting adorned jewels for the 4th implicit. Not worth the price of craicic otherwise, but craicics probably gonna be even more expensive now

Disclaimer: every mod you try to awk orb into your hinekora item has a "preset" outcome, so if you try to awk orb "minion dmg lvl #" into your hinekora's item you'll always get the same result even if it's another item, this only works if you want to try using an awakener orb with different types of mods/influences and still you'll only get 1 outcome for each mod & influence

I mean with some int stacker you can totaly see if you can open mod for prefixes cannot be cheanged and well done int stacking wand is realy pricey so nice. Thou prob best use for this beast is still corrupting perfect jewels for adorned setup

Im getting the same crafting outcome when using different items as long as they have the same mod im smashing together, seems like it doesnt actually work or was hotfixed.

But did anybody try to use a lock in the last version like this? Was it the same? Any infos about it that way? If it was in the game all along it was intended? If not it most likely some werid bug. But that should be found by a beta tester for sure...

Unless this has been patched without GGG noting it then it doesn't actually work. I've locked a T1 phys as Redeemer quiver and I've tried it several different ways across 3 different Warlord quivers and I always see the same result. I've even tried with a T2 Warlord mod and it gives the same other mods except that one is a tier down. I did get a different result with 2 Warlord mods but it didn't give the mod I wanted. Not sure if it's because of a quick fix that didn't get noted or it doesn't work, but even with the Einhar/Huck interaction they noted it in a hotfix so I'm leaning towards the second option.

Only useful for heist amulets and rings mostly, because influenced items are a relic of the past otherwise, with many mods super weak and terrible. If you check 100 random profiles on poe ninja, odds are 98 of them won't have influenced items except if it's a helm or gloves with pseudo-links. It isn't something people craft, because that don't sell. A shaper shield can sometimes sell if totem builds are popular, not for mana efficiency since u want that as a synth implicit. Which makes for a way way better shield.
Saying something used to make unpopular items may get fixed is like saying Vivid Vultures should be going away because they make the top end of items too strong. Yes, they do... no, think by now it's here to stay even if I felt it shouldn't be a thing myself. Influenced items are not good items generally. There is just a few things that exist where maybe it's fine. But not truly. Tailwind Onslaught Elusive boots and all that is fine, but u still sacrifice something. Could get 60% avoid ailment with 22% suppress and 35% chaos res and still get 5-6% action speed on very optimized non-influenced items. The influence options remove the ailment avoid and the suppress for slightly bigger dps boots. It's good right, but it's just an option where u go full damage and lose big defenses affixes to get it.

I think the game needs more stuff like this.
Really if it takes a metric ton of the item with the mod you want to "fish" for a result, it's going to take a lot of currency and an extreme amount of time to print anything insane, which is how the game works regardless. Foresight is basically just bad luck protection at a cost, which the game needs a lot more of, especially in SSF.

Very strong for sure but I don't think it's to the point that it needs a nerf. As you said yourself, you could do it in 3.22 but it was probably not worth using a lock on. It will most likely increase the price of frogs and awakener orbs but I don't think that's too big an issue. Also considering how powerful the graveyard crafting is this probably isn't even the best crafting method in the league.

Hmm, I'm not even too sure what this would be "abused" for per say? Yeah it's a powerful "deterministic" crafting option, but on the other hand, you are spending a div easily (depending on the time of day maybe even more) for the beasts alone and then you still need to get a crafting outcome you are happy with, which is still a normal gambling chance. At the end of the day you're investing at least a div to avoid using up .6 of a div?
I mean, most awakener's orb crafts (and correct me if I'm wrong here, I am by no means a crafter), only really care about transferring 2-3 mods influence mods onto a single item and then hope to have a prefix / suffix open to continue crafting on. In general you're not getting the perfect item out of an awakener's orb and even if you were looking to get a fantastic item (possibly BIS for you build), you're probably already working on a craft that'll probably easily cost you 10+ div to begin with and at best this method might save you, what? 5 divs? At that point I can't really imagine this crafting method really becoming *that* popular nor be so broken it warrants an emergency patch like the t17 shenanigans did.
Again, I'm by no means a crafter, so please correct and teach me if I'm wrong, but I don't see this being that big of an exploit

Doesn't work with the same mod. I tried it in 3.23 if you use a different mod you can check the results but if an item contains an already known mod it will always use that

I think it is intended ? you can do the exact same thing without the lock (without seeing the result in advance, but that what the lock do)
They might correct it in future leagues - like they did for Alva Temple altars - but it don't look like a bug to me, just a weird currency mechanic

I think its fixed. Just tested it. OR at least Hinekora locks on same suff and preff. You didnt test it in vid. If you would try different Angelic Shield with also same block chance affix. I think result is same bad shield. At least it showing me on my boots. Putting different boots (with same affix) on locked item, still same result.
